We believe in transparency, vibe checks, and making sure you always know what to expect. Here's everything you need to know before your visit to Roots & Tips

  • We don’t offer direct online booking — it helps us make sure you’re booked for exactly what you need. To get started, please fill out our booking form — it gives us the info we need to speed up the booking process! You can also call us directly during salon hours. 

  • We love spontaneous moments, but we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Walk-ins are welcome if we have availability.

  • Give us a call, we totally understand traffic can be hectic. We offer a 10-minute grace period, but after that, your appointment may need to be adjusted or rescheduled depending on service.

APPOINTMENTS

CANCELLATIONS + NO SHOWS

  • We get it — life happens. But we’re a small business, and your spot matters.

    • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 50% of the service total.

    • No-shows will be charged 100%.

    • For bookings over $200 or 2+ hours, a non-refundable deposit is required.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please email us at least 48 hours in advance. We’re unable to accept cancellations by phone, and late notice may result in a cancellation fee. Thanks for understanding!

  • We accept debit, credit, cash, and e-transfer.
    Tap, swipe, or slide through — just not IOUs.

  • Each service has a starting rate listed, but the final price depends on your hair length, density, and any additional treatments. Your stylist will walk you through the breakdown before we begin.

  • Absolutely. Our team is trained and experienced in all hair types and textures. Inclusion isn’t optional here — it’s foundational.

  • We got you! That’s what our consultations are for. Come as you are, and we’ll help you discover what look fits your mood, lifestyle, and hair goals.

  • We offer MORE! Nails, hair, and body! We’re a full-service concept bar — from scalp detox treatments and chrome nails to drinks and bites from our in-house café. Come for the glow-up, stay for the vibes.

  • We do not offer refunds, but we always want to make it right before you leave. If we aren’t able to fix it on the same day, we will schedule you back in.

FIXES AND REFUNDS

  • Our space is cozy and curated. Guests are welcome during your appointment, but space is limited. For children, please ensure they’re supervised at all times — or book a separate kid’s appointment.

  • Of course! Just let us know at booking if you’d prefer minimal conversation — we’ll make sure your experience is peaceful.

  • Yes! Bridal parties, private bookings, pop-ups, and content shoots can be arranged. Email us at events@rootsandtips.com for details.

ETIQUETTE + POLICIES

  • Please notify us when booking and at the beginning of your service. We’ll do our best to accommodate and suggest gentle product alternatives.

  • Many are — but please consult your healthcare provider first. We offer non-toxic nail options and gentle lash services.
